Truck & Trailer Maintenance – 2nd Shift
Leading steel company in Rockford is hiring an experienced Truck & Trailer Maintenance person on their 2nd shift. This is a Furst-to-Hire position, starting as soon as possible. The Truck & Trailer Maintenance person will inspect, maintain and repair all fleet equipment to DOT compliance. The ideal candidate will have their own tools (basic to start and build with time) and have their CDL or be willing to get it in a timely manner.
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 1pm to 9:30pm; Friday, 12pm to 8:30pm. Training for the first few weeks will be on first shift, 6am to 2:30pm.
Pay: $23/hour if you have a CDL; $20/hour if not. Plus .50 shift premium.
Truck & Trailer Maintenance Responsibilities:
* Perform preventive maintenance service on all units in a timely manner
* Maintain a safe and clean work area
* Inspect tools and equipment on a daily basis
* Enter work orders and repairs
* Drive forklifts and other equipment
Truck & Trailer Maintenance Requirements:
* Knowledge of truck and trailer maintenance
* Have their own tools
* Know how or willing to learn to weld
* Ability to use cutting torches
* Must have a CDL A, or ability to get in a timely manner
* Knowledge of diagnostic software
* Continual lifting up to 50 lbs.
* Occasional lifting 51-100 lbs.
