Spray Painter
Our client is seeking an experienced Spray Painter on their 1st shift. The Spray Painter is responsible for preparing, priming and painting products. We are looking for someone who can work well independently and will provide a quality paint job. The Spray Painter opportunity is a Furst-to-Hire position. Your skill level will determine the pay grade.
Hours: 6am to 4:30pm
Pay: $20/hour or $22/hour, depending on experience
Spray Painter Responsibilities:
- Ability to paint a quality finish free from paint runs, overspray, orange peel, uniform paint on all painted products
- Prepare, prime, and paint a variety of parts and machines
- Use proper chemicals to remove oil and other contamination prior to painting
- Tape off surfaces to be protected from paint using a variety of products (masking tape, self-adhesive plastic, paper towels)
- Operate, clean, and maintain the paint equipment utilized; to include spray guns, paint booth, filters, and respiratory equipment
- Apply filler as necessary to obtain smooth surfaces
- Mix primer or paint with appropriate hardeners to correct consistency for spray gun
- Stock paint/primer/paint supplies in proper locations upon delivery
- Observe all safety regulations and promote safe work habits
- Maintain good housekeeping and work to achieve the housekeeping goals set forth by Warehouse Supervision
Spray Painter Requirements:
- Able to read MSDS for proper personal protection or safe handling of paint products
- Ability to utilize all paint equipment (paint shaker, orbital sander, DA sander, plain or black Sander, paint gun cleaner, disposable paint gun items, basic hand tools, air hose, buffing tools)
- Able to communicate problems with paint quality from vendors or color tone issues
- High School diploma/GED equivalent
- Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, and aerial lifts
- 1 year of Painting metal components preferred
