Shipping & Receiving Associate
Our busy client located in Darien, WI is looking for a Shipping & Receiving Associate to join their 3rd shift. The Shipping & Receiving Associate ensures that all shipping documents and functions are completed accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills in order to communicate with customers and assist them as needed. The Shipping & Receiving Associate will be responsible for coordinating outbound freight schedules and maintaining accurate records. This is a Furst-to-Hire opportunity!
Hours: 10pm to 7am, M-F (45 hours/week)
Pay: $18.50/hour
Shipping & Receiving Associate Responsibilities:
- Promote a safe work environment through personal actions; identify safety concerns, as well as cost saving opportunities
- Prepare tallies; pull inventories from computer; match inventories to received product
- Add information such as customer number, name, date, product, lot number, etc.
- Compute results of tally; re-ad box counts, compute net weight, and compute required temperature
- Contact customer to resolve discrepancies in tally results
- Maintain correspondence with customers, including receipts, invoices (if required), and tallies; document all correspondence
- Aid in answering the telephone, resolving distribution center problems, and providing backup to the warehouse
- Schedule deliveries in conjunction with distribution
- Verify all orders and record shipping information
- Complete shipping orders including necessary labels and stickers
- Update computer inventory reports
- Authorize product for shipment
- Maintain security procedures at dock
- Resolve customer problems as presented
- Track down missing shipments
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks, as necessary
Shipping & Receiving Associate Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED plus one year office experience or equivalent training and experience
- Warehouse or transportation experience a plus
- Ability to work in high paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Experienced with AS/400 and Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Ability to use a 10-key calculator
- Ability to work well with other team members
