Shipping & Receiving 1st shift
We are seeking a Shipping & Receiving Specialist to join our client’s team. This is not a basic warehouse muscle job; we need someone who can handle a higher level of responsibility. While the job does involve physical labor, it requires much more. The ideal candidate must be able to take inventory, count accurately, differentiate between number chains, operate a computer, and understand parts and locations.
Salary: $18-$20 per hour depending on experience
Hours: Mon - Fri, 7am to 5:30pm
Shipping/Receiving Responsibilities:
- Receive parts from the shop into the warehouse
- Cross train to support a variety of needs
- Handle bills of lading, purchase orders, vendor numbers
- Ensure that the received items are exact and match the invoices
- Work with freight shipping companies
- Build the right packaging to ensure items are shipped safely
- Perform cycle counting
- Pull orders with a cart or forklift; operate cranes and pallet jacks
- Receive freight from field suppliers
- Accurately reconcile paperwork with what was shipped and received
- Use a computerized inventory system, and confirm inventory is correct
- Print out orders twice a day and run a report to ensure inventory matches exactly
- Put stock away in correct locations
Shipping/Receiving Requirements:
- 2-3 years’ shipping/receiving experience
- Strong warehouse experience
- Strong receiving experience
- Ability to use a computerized inventory system
- Accurate counting skills
- Ability to handle physical labor
- Thoughtful and process-driven work ethic
- Ability to work in a strong team environment
- Occasional heavy lifting
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license to eventually make local deliveries
- Willingness to operate a forklift indoor/outdoor in the elements
