Quality Technicians – Multiple Openings – Direct Hire
Furst is hiring for a great client located northwest of Rockford. We have MANY Direct Hire opportunities available! Our client is eager to find qualified candidates and start them on their payroll ASAP. The location is perfect for candidates who live in Rockford, Freeport, Pearl City, Lena, Dakota, Durand, Pecatonica, Dakota and Monroe. The Quality Technician candidates will enjoy a 2/2/3 schedule: Work M/T, Off W/Th, Work F/Sa/Su. The next week Off M/T, Work W/Th, Off F/Sa/Su. Every other weekend is a THREE-DAY weekend! You end up working 7 days and being off 7 days in every two-week period. These are 12-hour shifts.
We have both Days and Nights available. Prior experience with food or quality is preferred, but there are also opportunities for training candidates with transferable skills.
Hours: Days 5:40am to 6pm or Nights 5:40pm to 6am.
Pay: $18.00 to $23.00/hour base pay, PM shift differential $1 ($19.00 to $24.00, DOE)

Quality Technician Responsibilities:
- Perform quality checks in the lab according to work instructions on each form
- Perform food quality checks i.e. pH, moisture & salt
- Check viscosities
- Check color variations using the NCI chart and the Colorimeter
- For certain procedures, there will be specialty equipment for specification checks
- Follow process requirements
- Perform testing on equipment prior to a production run
- Responsible for Food safety
- Floor Quality Checks
- Verify that the production Paperwork/Charts are filled out correctly
- Communicate with the Production Supervisor(s)/Production Staff when needed
- Check product descriptors to match master file and production sheet
- Check overall package appearance before Warehouse picks up the order
- Weigh product in-process during run time
- Check gauges according to the process's requirements
- Use a ruler according to the process's requirements
- When a product is non-conforming, manage process
- Inspect cleanliness of the production equipment and the overall area
Quality Technician Requirements:
- Strong computer and math skills
- Ability to handle tasks and have adaptability to the different situations that may occur
- At a minimum, on-the-job training should last approximately 3 weeks and could cover all shifts
- High School diploma/or GED required; or qualifying work experience
- Fluency in written and verbal English is a fundamental requirement for this position
