Quality Technician
 
Direct Hire opportunity for an experienced Quality Technician to join an established manufacturer in Rockford.  As Quality Technician, you will be involved in solving quality problems and developing CMM programs and detailed procedures.  The Quality Technician is also responsible for training and mentoring inspectors, performing audits, analyzing quality data and applying statistical methods for process control.  
 
Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm with occasional overtime, evening, and weekend work / generally 40-50 hours per week
Pay: $25-$36.25 DOE

Quality Technician Responsibilities:
  • Proficiently program and operate CMM and provide instruction and training to other personnel on the proper use of CMM equipment
  • Perform advanced non-destructive testing (NDT), including proficiency in magnetic particle testing and other NDT methods
  • Maintain the instrument calibration system (e.g., Gagetrack), ensuring all instruments are calibrated, documented, and maintained according to established procedures
  • Conduct evaluations and investigations of returned products, collecting necessary data to complete timely documentation and disposition in the database
  • Perform product inspections and testing to meet customer quality specifications, generating quality documents such as inspection reports, certificates of conformance, and material certification packets for customers
  • Support the scrap/re-work process for discrepant products, ensuring proper documentation and corrective action implementation
  • Conduct gage repeatability and reproducibility (GR&R) studies as necessary
  • Support ISO Quality System requirements and assist in conducting process audits to ensure compliance
  • Maintain the corrective action log and database, ensuring timely and accurate documentation of corrective actions
  • Facilitate the movement of parts and components, utilizing appropriate mobility tools, including manual handling, carts, and powered lift trucks
 
Quality Technician Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in Quality Assurance or a related industrial program
  • 4+ years of experience within quality control in a manufacturing environment practicing ISO 9001
  • Demonstrated proficiency utilizing metrology/inspection tools, experience with calibration systems
  • 3+ years of experience with CMM operation serving as the SME (Zeiss hardware and/or Calypso Software preferred)
  • Intermediate level of computer literacy, specifically Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Capable of using measuring instruments, i.e. micrometer, calipers, gages, etc.
  • Ability to read/write, perform basic arithmetic, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Prior experience in gage calibration and maintenance, with ability to manage and oversee related processes
  • Ability to interpret blueprints with a strong knowledge of GD&T principles and inspection methods
  • Understanding and application of SPC techniques
  • Certification in metal trades industry or Quality Control.
