The Production Scheduler is responsible for managing the production requirements planning for the plant. Assist in managing the planning elements of the sales and operations planning process – determining lead time and scheduling. Work closely with the Purchasing, Production, Quality and Shipping departments to coordinate and manage flow through the departments. Coordinate with Sales and Customer service to satisfy customer demands.
Production Scheduler Essential Functions:
- Schedule and manage the flow of jobs on the shop floor to meet the needs of the customer
- Set priorities and create schedules for each department
- Create open sales order report
- Assist in managing and monitoring lead time, safety stocks, order quantities and other planning data used to schedules for the production floor
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and new product projects
- Review all cost changes associated with price changes of purchased items
- Work closely with Sales and Customer Service on lead times
- Communicate any changes in shipping dates to Customer Service
Production Scheduler Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Detail oriented
- Exceptional time management skills
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Understand fabrication, welding, painting and packing
- Sales and operations planning knowledge
- Knowledge of sales forecasting, master scheduling and MRP logic
- Excellent communications skills, both written and oral
- Computer proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Share Point, etc.)
- Thorough understanding of SYSPRO and how it impacts the production floor
- Knowledge of Bills of Material structures and the routing of material through the plant
Minimum Required Experience or Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 5-7 years industry experience
Production Scheduler work schedule is Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm
Production Scheduler pay rate is $17 per hour
