A Patient Registrar greets patients or family members and assists them in answering any questions they may have in person or over the phone. This position is fast-paced (sometimes chaotic) and you will be the person our clinical care teams rely on to get patients entered or checked in within the electronic medical record to get care started. To thrive in this position, you will need to be confident with technology and typing; however, you don’t need to have any previous experience or knowledge in healthcare. Must be able to handle seeing individuals with serious illnesses and injuries. Will start out at the welcome desk entering arrivals in EPIC and will be trained over time to do in-room registrations.
Patient Registrar will:
- Engage in positive interactions; demonstrate friendliness and helpfulness
- Use good judgment in highly emotional and demanding situations
- Register patients for emergency and urgent care, outpatient visits, surgical and direct admits
- Enter patient’s complaints/symptoms in the appropriate order, based on their severity
- Generate patient arm band, face sheet, and patient labels
- Perform pre-admission and pre-registration functions for patients
- Collect applicable co-pays and other payments

Patient Registrar Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Computer knowledge - able to navigate and enter data accurately
- Two years of customer service experience, preferred
- Knowledge of third party payors, preferred
- Knowledge of EPIC and medical terminology, preferred
- Driver's license check for some positions and ability to complete Illinois Healthcare Worker's Background Check
Patient Registrar Competitive salary and benefits available upon hire.
$17.23 base pay for hours worked on 1st shift.
$19.81: this includes a 15% shift differential for hours worked on 2nd shift.
$20.68: this includes a 20% shift differential for hours worked on 3rd shift.

Patient Registrar Hours: This position is primarily 3rd shift with core hours of 10:30pm to 7am, including every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday). Additional hours may be available for pickup.
Work locations are primarily in Rockford, IL. Pickup hours may be offered at other locations.
