A local church is seeking a warm, organized, and detail-oriented part-time Administrative Assistant to serve as the primary point of contact during office hours. This person will play a key role in supporting the church’s ministry through hospitality, communication, and administrative support. The ideal candidate is a welcoming presence at the front desk and is highly proficient in managing office operations and supporting church staff.
Hours: Monday-Thursday 9am-3pm and Friday 9am-12pm; 27 hours/week
Pay: $19
Administrative Assistant Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for all visitors and callers, creating a positive and welcoming environment.
- Answer phones, greet visitors, and handle front office interactions.
- Assist staff in maintaining and updating the Master Church Calendar.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail.
- Prepare and print weekly worship bulletins, special service bulletins, postcards, and other communication materials.
- Provide copies and materials for weekly meetings and attend meetings as needed.
- Order and manage inventory for office, cleaning, kitchen, and maintenance supplies.
- Compile and produce Westminster’s Annual Report.
- Prepare certificates for baptisms, new members, and columbarium interments.
- Provide support to Commissions, Deacons, and other church committees.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in business or a related field or at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Docs
- Experience with social media managements and website updates is a plus
