Job Description

Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repairs and maintenance of all faculties and equipment. This involves performing a wide variety of maintenance duties including, but not limited to, plumbing, snow removal, carpentry, electrical and mechanical repair. They also assist and support the packaging machine operator in packaging high quality products and operating the packaging room in a safe, efficient manner. 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for repairs of all plant equipment and building facilities
  • Responsible for the prompt and effective response and resolution to work orders (checklists and reports)
  • Conducts regularly and visual inspection (reports) of facility/plant equipment in order to determine repairs and communicates potential equipment failure and/or issues.
  • Responds to all maintenance related work orders.
  • Maintains sanitation equipment within Plant and support Plant Master Sanitation
  • When necessary, acts as a backup for Packaging Machine Operator and performs/assumes "packing machine operator" duties and responsibilities. 
Key Duties:
  • Troubleshoot, diagnoses, and repairs interior /exterior facilities
  • Tests circuits to locate problems, replacing switches, outlets and light bulbs
  • repairs pipe leaks and unplugs drains and fixtures, replaces valves, caulks
  • Frame walls for drywall, hangs and finishes drywall
  • Operates snow removal equipment, shovels snow from entrances and sidewalks and spreads salt and other ground related tasks
  • Operates form/seal machines
  • Complete all master sanitation schedule activities
  • Maintain operation of double chamber and if necessary, troubleshoot as required
  • Reports and recommends facility improvements to Maintenance Supervisor
  • Performs mechanical repairs as needed
Skills required:
  • Able to troubleshoot, operate and make repairs on plant equipment
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Safety conscience
  • Able to work independently
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly 
Experience: 
  • Previous mechanical repair experience 
  • Knowledge of packaging equipment and procedures
  • HS diploma or Equivalent
  • 3-5 years of maintenance experience (preferred)
  • Facility Maintenance experience (preferred)
  • Must be familiar with a wide range of skilled crafts including, plumbing, electrical and carpentry
  • Knowledge and/or experience w/preventative maintenance and safety procedures/programs
