Lead Machine Operator – 1st Shift
Leading pharmaceutical company is looking for an experienced Lead Machine Operator. The Lead Machine Operator requires some previous experience in a supervisory role. This is a Furst-to-Hire position, working on the 1st shift. The Lead Machine Operator will run packaging equipment, monitor the on-line insert scanner/folder, and perform in-process quality checks. In addition, the Lead Machine Operator will manage/direct production personnel working on and around the packaging line.
Hours: 6:25am to 3pm
Pay: $20/hour
Lead Machine Operator Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment to established 6S Standards
- Complete the set-up of all production-related equipment
- Perform pre-checks: bring components, labels and product into machine room
- Perform reconciliation at the end of runs
- Assist in sub-assembly of feeder box, making minor adjustments as needed
- Perform System checks on all equipment
- Responsible for monitoring specific operations during all production runs
- Direct the crew to keep the packaging process and clean-ups running efficiently
- Perform in-process quality checks of finished unit cartons
- Perform SAP duties with an RF Device and/or computer system including time scanning, material transfers, receiving items, returning product to stock
- Complete start/end clean-up, run time, set-up and cover for lunch when required
- Monitor scrap and salvage rates on all products to ensure and achieve minimum waste cost
- Communicate all problems with the packaging line (maintenance, downtime, etc.) or production personnel to the Team Leader and/or Production Supervisor
- Perform Operator duties and administrative tasks as required
- Complete all Batch Record documentation, Machine and Cleaning logs in accordance with all applicable current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), SOP(s), and/or WI
- Train and develop production personnel
Lead Machine Operator Requirements:
- Maintain a good working relationship and daily communication with all Quality Assurance, Maintenance Department and Production personnel, and a cooperative attitude toward other employees
- Possess knowledge in working with and leading others in a team environment
- Ability to operate semi-automatic and automatic packaging machines
- Knowledge of set-up and operation of Label-Aire Labeler, and on-line insert scanner/folders
- Ability to be flexible and assist when and where needed
- Computer skills required- SAP, MS Word/ Excel, and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems
- High School diploma (or equivalent) required
- Some college courses and 2 years of experience as an Operator, preferred; however, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration
- Ability to write routine reports and general business correspondence
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
