GENERAL LABORER – 1st Shift

$18.00 per hour
Schedules:
5:30am - 6:00pm, Monday through Thursday
5:30am – 2:00pm, Monday through Friday with overtime as needed
Some of the job responsibilities for the General Laborer include:
- Packaging line work - hand packing, sorting, labeling, stacking, off-loading
- Visual and physical inspection of product and packaging
- Weighing raw material
- Feeding gum into various machines
- Transporting product and material
- Wiping down product materials and equipment
- General housekeeping of work area
- Courteous, effective communication
Reliable employees who are interested in being considered for hire may be trained to run various equipment including machine operations.
Physical requirements for the General Laborer include:
- Stand throughout shift excluding break periods
- Lift up to 42 pounds
- Reach, bend, twist, push, pull, walk up and down stairs
- Visual ability to inspect product and packaging
- Legible handwriting

During your FurstStaffing assignment, PVM will monitor reliability, outlook and performance. If consistently meeting expectations, you may be considered for a Generalist position with a base wage of $20/hr. Generalists perform a variety of tasks including machine operating and material handling.
Perfetti Van Melle considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, merit-based compensation review (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
