Job Description

Job Summary:
The Director of Social-Emotional Learning will be responsible for translating organizational goals into strategies and methods that support the development and implementation of effective SEL (Social Emotional Learning) programs. This role involves planning, training, and hands-on coaching at sites (minimum 50% of time), with a focus on increasing positive member behaviors and promoting trauma-informed practices. The Director will manage and oversee a Grant and is expected to work closely to meet all grant deadlines and requirements to ensure the sustainability of SEL funding.

Program Design, Planning & Implementation:
  1. Research and analyze SEL programs, strategies, and curriculum in collaboration with internal staff, affiliates, local schools, and external experts.
  2. Design annual, monthly, weekly, and daily SEL programming for K–12 members using proven curriculum and trauma-informed practices.
  3. Provide training and ongoing coaching for program coordinators and assistants on SEL implementation and member support.
  4. Lead efforts to transition organization to a trauma-informed organization per organization standards.
Data Collection & Evaluation:
  1. Partner with the Director of Continuous Quality Improvement and the operations team to establish SEL performance metrics.
  2. Train staff on data collection procedures and integrate data into program improvement processes.
  3. Monitor program fidelity and impact through site visits, evaluations, and monthly reports.
  4. Share results with internal and external stakeholders through reports and presentations.
Partnerships & Collaboration:
  1. Cultivate relationships with volunteers, community partners, and SEL service providers to enhance program delivery.
  2. Lead the implementation of Hello Insight or comparable tools to measure SEL outcomes.
  3. Collect and share stories and impact moments that highlight program success.
Grant Management:
  1. Manage all aspects of the grant, including compliance, reporting, and documentation.
  2. Collaborate directly with community partner to meet grant deliverables and ensure funding sustainability.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or other human service or education field strongly preferred.
  2. Demonstrated experience in SEL programming, youth development, or trauma-informed practices.
  3. Strong leadership and coaching abilities with a hands-on approach to staff development.
  4. Proven ability to manage grants, analyze data, and build strategic partnerships.
  5. Willingness and availability to work evenings as needed.
