Director of Children’s Ministry (Part-Time)
A local church in Rockford is seeking a passionate, Christ-centered leader to serve as our Director of Children’s Ministry. This is a part-time Direct Hire role that supports our family ministry by overseeing children’s programs, events, and volunteer leadership while partnering with church staff to develop engaging, Bible-centered ministry for children and families. This position is more than a job—it is a calling to help children and families grow in their faith and connection to the church.
Schedule: Must be available for Wednesday morning staff meetings 10:15am-noon, Wednesday nights for ministries, and Sunday mornings 9am-noon. Other hours are flexible when the church office is open usually Tues, Wed, & Thurs 10am-2pm
Pay: $18.00
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee children’s ministry programming, including Sunday and Wednesday activities
- Select curriculum, organize events, and manage resources
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers while maintaining safety policies
- Communicate regularly with children and families and maintain attendance records
- Collaborate with the Senior Pastor on family programs, small groups, and community outreach
- Participate in staff meetings, worship services, and key church events
Qualifications:
- Active, growing Christian faith and servant leadership mindset
- Experience in children’s or family ministry (or related field)
- Strong communication skills with children, families, and adults
- Organized, proactive, and creative ministry approach
