CNC Setup Specialist – Lathes – 2nd Shift
We are seeking a CNC Setup Specialist to join the 2nd shift of a local manufacturing company. The CNC Setup Specialist is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machinery, such as Mazaks, Doosans, INDEX and Nakamuras. This role focuses on developing proficiencies in operating these machines. The CNC Setup Specialist ensures the smooth operation of equipment, maintains produce quality and assists with basic machine maintenance. This is a DIRECT HIRE opportunity.
Hours: 3pm to 11:30pm or later; 40-50 hours per week with occasional Saturdays
Pay: $52K to $72,800, DOE

CNC Setup Specialist Responsibilities:
- Perform machine setup for CNC equipment, following setup sheets and loading appropriate dies and tooling into machinery
- Assist CNC Technicians and Operators with machine setup, calibration, and changeovers for different production runs
- Support in changing inserts, tooling, and other necessary adjustments within CNC machinery
- Operate CNC machinery to produce parts according to specifications
- Inspect products during the production process using precision tools such as calipers and micrometers
- Document daily production activities, including machine performance, part quality, and material usage in ERP systems
- Assist with basic machine maintenance and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues to minimize downtime
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure products meet company and customer specifications
- Flex across various departments as needed to support business demands
CNC Setup Specialist Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent or significant relevant work experience
- 1-3 years of experience operating CNC machinery
- Capable of using measuring instruments, such as micrometer, calipers, gages, etc.
- Capable of using all required hand tools, such as drills, screwdrivers, impacts, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints & part schematics
- Ability to read/write, perform basic arithmetic, and follow verbal and written instructions
- Experience operating both single-axis and multi-axis CNC machinery, as well as single-turret and multi-turret systems is preferred
- Ability to do frequent lifting up to 50 pounds
