Administrative Assistant
We have an immediate opportunity for an Administrative Assistant to join the staff at a local church and school. This is a Furst-to-Hire position. The Administrative Assistant will support day-to-day operations of the school, ensuring smooth communication between staff, parents and students. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills and a willingness to assist wherever needed, aligning with the school’s Christian values and mission. The Administrative Assistant will manage office tasks, maintain records and foster a welcoming atmosphere in the school office. This is an extremely important position, serving as the first point of contact for parents and directing concerns to the appropriate staff.
Hours: 11:30am to 3:30pm, M-F (This position could go full-time, 35-40 hours/week, when school starts)
Pay: $18/hour
Administrative Assistant Responsibilities:
- Manage the school’s front desk, including answering phones, responding to emails and greeting visitors
- Maintain the grade school accounts in the computer system, handle billing and collecting of tuition, pizza forms, appointments, and coordinate events
- Prepare and distribute correspondence, newsletters, and other communication materials
- Support the Preschool Director, acting Grade School Principal and teachers
- Maintain student records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Assist in enrollment and registration processes, including handling application materials
- Track attendance and generate reports as required
- Collect tuition payments, fees, and donations
- Order and manage office and classroom supplies within the school’s budget
- Support the preparation of financial and operational reports as requested
- Coordinate with teachers to ensure effective communication between the school and families
- Assist in the organization of school events, field trips, and parent meetings
Administrative Assistant Requirements:
- Previous experience as an Administrative Assistant
- Possess the skills and mindset to work with children in a learning and faith-based environment
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience with MS Word and Excel (ability to create a basic spreadsheet)
- Willingness to assist students and preschoolers when needed
- Uphold and model Christian values in all interactions and communications
