Accounting Clerk – Agronomy Division (Seasonal Opportunity)

We’re looking for a detail-driven, organized professional to support accounting, billing, and administrative functions within our agronomy division. In this role, you’ll ensure accurate processing of invoices, work orders, inventory adjustments, and customer accounts using Merchant Ag and Field Alytics systems. This is a temporary position with competitive pay and flexible scheduling options.
Pay: $21.00 – $23.00 per hour (DOE)
Schedule Flexibility:
Choose the shift that works best for you:
- 7:00am – 3:30pm
- 7:30am – 4:00pm
- 8:00am – 4:30pm
(Monday–Friday)
What You’ll Do:
You’ll serve as a key connection point between our agronomy operations, accounting systems, and customers by:
Accounting & Billing Accuracy
- Entering and processing agronomy tickets, work orders, and invoices in Merchant Ag
- Verifying pricing, quantities, and sales tax accuracy
- Reconciling vendor invoices with deliveries and services
- Processing customer payments and applying them correctly
- Assisting with month-end close activities, including inventory and sales ledger balancing
Agronomy System & Inventory Support
- Maintaining accurate data entry and reporting in Field Alytics
- Ensuring blend sheets, product loads, and scale tickets are captured and transferred correctly
- Troubleshooting discrepancies between Field Alytics and Merchant Ag
- Supporting daily and monthly inventory reconciliations
- Tracking fertilizer, chemical, seed, and custom application services
- Assisting with seasonal prepay tracking and balance management
Communication & Coordination
- Partnering with agronomy location managers to resolve discrepancies
- Responding to customer billing inquiries in a timely, professional manner
- Communicating with applicators and agronomy staff to obtain missing information
- Maintaining organized digital and paper records
- Supporting general office duties including scanning, filing, and data clean-up
What You Bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail with high data-entry accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities during peak agronomy seasons (spring & fall)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Experience with Merchant Ag and/or Field Alytics
- Background in accounting, billing, agribusiness, or agriculture
- Knowledge of agricultural products and seasonal workflows
