PLC Control Specialist
The PLC control specialist is responsible for the repair/installation of electrical control systems including but not limited to PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motors, sensors, and solenoids. The PLC control specialist will also be required to help with the timely maintenance of all plant equipment, buildings and grounds as needed. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely maintenance of all plant equipment, buildings and grounds utilizing a work order system to control labor and costs.
  • Coordinates activities of employees engaged in repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools and equipment.
  • Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance to operating standards. 
  • Requisitions tools, equipment, supplies required for repairs needed to complete work orders.
  • Directs training to improve other maintenance personnel’s work performance and procedures. ï‚· Implement short/long term repair projects to minimize downtime and maximize production.
  • Mechanical - repair, rebuild, fabricate, and install all equipment which includes but not limited to welding, brazing, lubricating, cleaning, inspecting, evaluating, and plumbing. 
  • Electrical - electrical motor hook-up, wiring, electrical repairs, knowledge of electrical panels, computer boards, PLC devices and HMI’s. 
  • Experience with RS Studio 5000, Siemens Step 7, and Ignition SCADA system preferred. ï‚· Interface with plant supervisory staff on daily operational issues. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualification/Requirements:
  • Minimum two-year technical degree. 
  • Minimum two years supervisory/lead experience. 
  • Journeyman electrical license preferred. 
  • Must possess solid analytical skills, mechanical and electrical aptitude. 
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress. 
  • Computer literacy applied to control and data management. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation. 
  • Must be able to verbally communicate, understand, and write in the English language. 

Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time. 
  • The employee is required to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms on a repetitive basis. 
  • The employee must be able to lift, bend, stoop, push/pull exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds frequently and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects. 
  • Requires visual acuity to review written documentations; ability to hear and understand speech. 
  • There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. 
  • There is exposure to a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and exposure to heat/cold temperature changes.
