Job Description
The GIS Specialist is responsible for, through the use of GIS and other appropriate software, the maintenance of the geographic information as well as other systems. This will also include updating geometry, attribute data and production of hard copy and/or digital maps. GIS Specialist essential job functions-

Provides timely, routine reports of satisfactory progress toward goals and objectives
Assists with Council and Committee schedules, meeting materials, meeting space, and may provide administrative support
Based on project assignments, serves as staff support interacting with governing board, policy committees, and advisory committees.
Assists with Council and Committee schedules, meeting materials, meeting space, and may provide administrative support
Ensures board and operational compliance with the Open Meetings Act (OMA) and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
Update GIS data in software for City & County 911 Centers
Create, edit, integrate, verify, and manage geospatial data and attributes using GIS software
Compile and extract geographic data from a variety of sources
Perform GIS database conversions to and from different formats
Perform database design, advanced GIS analysis, and modeling
Experience with CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch – for 911) desirable
GIS Specialist Education, Training, Experience-Graduation from an accredited institution with a Bachelor's degree in GIS or related field, and 5 years relative experience. Master’s degree preferred but not required. A satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training which ensures the ability to perform the work may be considered. The GIS Specialist is a full time, direct hire position. The GIS Specialist starting wage is $45k, depending on experience. If interested and qualified, please apply directly to this job posting.
